Poly Organza Vintage
Goal Color: Lavender ✅
Nylon lace accents meant that a darker goal color would mean high contrast. Sticking with a soft color allowed for a soft play between the resistant lining and organza, before the lace would go too dark.

Vintage Lavender Allover Dye

Poly Tulle, Nylon Tulle, Poly Organza
Goal Color: Lilac Ombre ✅
Layered gowns offer some flexibility to manipulate color. This gown achieved the goal effect ONLY because the average of the stubborn poly organza and the very greedy nylon tulle work together.

Lilac Ombre: Closer Look
The layers tells the dramatic story of the resistant poly organza. Gowns with mixed fibers like this often won't benefit from a longer dye bath or more dye, because the more receptive fiber will always steal it before the resistant one has the chance.

Skip It!
This client had a base layer satin that took color beautifully and opted to leave the organza untouched.

Marine Ruffles
Goal Color: Multicolor Blue Ombre
Another great example of a mixed fiber gown in which the poly organza remained shades lighter than nylon tulle elements. Without the nylon tulle, though, it wouldn't have achieved the goal of including deep navy tones.

Merlot Ruffles
This client's goal color was a more red-toned "wine". With an aggressively saturated dye bath and 3 hours submerged, this was our result. She was ultimately satisfied, knowing in advance from our swatch test that the red wasn't clinging as well as the blue and not as dark as she'd have liked. Adjusted expectations yielded this lovely result.

Black Mixed Fibers
Nylon tulle and applique do the heavy lifting for jet black here. The poly organza layer just beneath budged to about a 30% cool gray.

Mixed Fiber Swatch Test: Solid Outer
The small piece of organza (far left) here shows us the expected resistance. The challenge for this project will be the nylon tulle (test showing burgundy) stealing from the organza. Because the gown is exclusively organza on the outer layer, we'll push the red as far as we can toward this scarlet goal.

Mixed Fiber Swatch Test: Multitextured
This gown's result will be multidimensional color. The poly organza will resist more than the other elements, which will reach her goal burgundy tones. We look forward to seeing how the contrast of the dark lace looks against the softer tones we'll have with the organza.
